Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeks a part-time Interpreter for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing II to provide on-site and remote ASL/English interpreting for DMH staff and programs. The role includes coordinating with freelancers, supervising interns, and delivering staff trainings on interpreter services.

Applicants should have RID certification or equivalent, a high school diploma, and at least two years’ relevant experience. Flexible scheduling and a mission-driven environment are offered.

Formación

• Knowledge of both formal and informal registers of English and ASL.
• Knowledge of Deaf culture and community.
• Ability to perform simultaneous and consecutive interpretation.
• Ability to work in a team setting and independently.
• Experience using technology for remote work (Zoom, Outlook, Teams).

Responsabilidades

• Provide in-person and remote ASL/English interpreting for Deaf/hard of hearing staff and stakeholders.
• Translate between ASL and written English as required.
• Maintain professional conduct per RID/DMH standards.
• Schedule and coordinate interpreting work with staff and freelancers.
• Support interns and provide training on interpreter services.
