Job summary

BAYADA Home Health Care, Inc. in Morganton, NC is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) with American Sign Language to support a single client in home and community settings. The role emphasizes one-on-one care, companionship, and helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities reach their full potential.

The position offers afternoon hours with starting pay of $15 per hour and weekly payroll. Training is provided; ASL proficiency is preferred; NC-based applicants only.

Qualifications

• One year of experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities (training available through our apprentice program)
• Ability to communicate using ASL (Fluent in ASL is preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance with daily hygiene (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Accompany clients on errands and appointments
• Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities
• Assist with everyday tasks, such as meal preparation
• Participate in community integration activities
