• ASL fluency and familiarity with tactile sign language, Pro-Tactile communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in special education, social work, counseling or related field preferred, or equivalent knowledge of state regulations for assisted living.

Responsibilities

• Relays visual and environmental information using resident’s preferred communication mode.
• Coordinates and oversees on-site sign language interpreters, captioning services, and augmentative communication systems.
• Assists residents with accessing mail, emails, and daily information.
• Develops and updates individualized support plans (ISPs) with residents and staff.
• Advocates for residents' rights to accessible, non-discriminatory care.
