Job summary

South Coast Winery Resort & Spa and Carter Estate Winery and Resort seek a Human Resources Assistant to provide essential admin support and serve as a resource for employees and managers in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, organized handling of benefits, recruitment support, orientation, and payroll/documentation tasks while collaborating with the HR team. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, and some weekend or holiday hours may apply.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • One to two years of related Human Resources or administrative experience.
  • Previous hotel, resort, or hospitality experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources laws, regulations, and practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Professional and effective communication skills in person, by phone, electronically, and with groups.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative, clerical, technical, and office support to the Human Resources Department.
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees, managers, candidates, and visitors in person and by telephone.
  • Answer questions regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and general employment matters.
  • Lead employee-relations activities, including new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of employee benefits information and communications.
  • Coordinate recruitment and candidate screening activities.
  • Prepare Job announcements and advertisements and communicate applications and employment status to candidates and management.
  • Process personnel action forms and maintain accurate personnel records.
  • Coordinate post-offer pre-employment drug screening and other required employment screening.
  • Maintain personnel files and records to ensure information is timely and accurate.
  • Conduct initial new-hire orientation and assist employees with completing payroll and benefits documentation.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive employee information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager.

South Coast Winery Resort & spa and Carter Estate Winery and Resort are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our Human Resources team. This position provides essential administrative and technical support to the Human Resources Department while serving as a professional and helpful source to our employees and managers.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, costumer-focused and able to maintain confidentiality while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced resort environment.
