THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking a skilled ASIC Verification Engineer to plan, build, and execute verification for AMD's graphics processor IP, aiming to deliver bug-free final designs.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will leverage deep technical expertise to validate complex GPU architectures, ensuring high standards of design integrity and performance. You should have a passion for modern processor architecture, digital design, and verification, with excellent communication skills and experience working across different sites and time zones. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a willingness to learn, are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Collaborate with architects, hardware, and firmware engineers to understand features for verification.
2. Develop test plan documentation considering interactions with hardware, firmware, and software.
3. Estimate time for writing tests and modifying test environments.
4. Create directed and random verification tests.
5. Debug test failures, work with RTL and firmware engineers to resolve issues.
6. Review coverage metrics and update tests to meet requirements.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Proficient in IP-level ASIC verification.
• Experience debugging firmware and RTL code with simulation tools.
• Skilled in UVM testbenches, Linux, and Windows environments.
• Proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, C, and C++.
• Knowledge of graphics pipelines.
• Experience developing UVM frameworks and automating workflows.
• Familiarity with simulation profiling, acceleration, HLS tools.
• Strong C++ background, preferably on Linux and Windows.
• Understanding of UVM concepts and SystemVerilog.
• Knowledge of SystemC and TLM.
• Scripting skills: Perl, Ruby, Makefile, shell.
• Leadership or mentorship experience is a plus.
• Experience with Shader/SIMD processors is desirable.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
