Job summary

GE Aerospace’s Asheville facility seeks a CMC Technician - Level C to support high-performance manufacturing of ceramic matrix composite components. You will perform standardized work across fabrication and machining processes, adhere to EHS and quality requirements, and maintain accurate records to drive continuous improvement.

The role offers hands-on experience in a lean environment with opportunities to grow in a team that develops advanced jet engine components for commercial and military

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedules for training, as required.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; offer contingent on background check and drug screening.
  • Must be at least 18 years old by joining date.

Responsibilities

  • Complete required training for each assigned fabrication or machining process; complete all compliance and EHS training.
  • Contribute to a high performance, self-directed work team; participate in safety and/or quality audits.
  • Execute production tasks across multiple CMC process areas (e.g., Gerber table cutting, lay up, furnace operations, grinding, CNC, EDM/laser drilling).
  • Follow standard work, safety procedures, and quality requirements; record operations and data accurately.
  • Support problem solving and continuous improvement to enhance Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

The CMC Technician - Level C supports high-performance, self-directed manufacturing teams producing advanced ceramic matrix composite components. This role executes standardized work across multiple fabrication and machining processes, follows rigorous EHS and quality requirements, maintains accurate records, and actively contributes to continuous improvement to deliver safe, high-quality parts that meet customer needs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Complete required training for each assigned fabrication or machining process; complete all compliance and EHS training
  • Actively contribute to a high performance, self directed work team; participate in safety and/or quality audits
  • Execute production tasks across multiple CMC process areas, as trained and qualified, which may include: Gerber table cutting equipment, Lay up (hand application of raw material onto molds), Furnace operations: autoclave, burnout, melt infiltration, Grit blasting, CNC machine operation, Non conventional machining (EDM, laser drilling), Visual and machine inspection
  • Follow standard work, safety procedures, and quality requirements; accurately record operations and production data
  • Support problem solving and continuous improvement to enhance Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Flexibility to adjust schedules for training, as required
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; any offer is contingent upon successful completion of the pre-employment process (including background check and drug screening)
  • This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
