Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a reliable Manufacturing Operator at our West Jefferson, NC facility. You will operate CNC machines, inspection equipment, and support the production of high-quality rotating parts for aircraft engines, following drawings and process sheets.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines or inspection equipment or special processes.
  • Collaborate in daily team meetings and activities; maintain professional communication with team members.
  • Accurately record time and maintain electronic or manual logs and charts.
  • Obtain and maintain CVP certification with provided training.
  • Ensure traceability by serializing parts and complying with industry standards.
  • Meet tolerances and finishes per Manufacturing Engineering and QA; set up and operate equipment per drawings and method sheets.
  • Operate and set up equipment according to drawings; supplement with own knowledge as needed.
  • Handle materials with cranes or handling equipment up to 50 lbs following ergonomic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC machines or Inspection equipment or Special processes.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in daily team meetings and activities, practicing direct professional communication with team members and contributing to a positive team dynamic.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately account for your time using the prescribed system, electronically maintain records, logbooks, and charts, and produce electronic or manual reports.
  • Certification: Obtain and maintain the CVP certification, with training provided to support your professional growth.
  • Traceability: Accurately serialize parts to maintain traceability at all times, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Achieve all required tolerances and finishes that meet standards set by Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Assurance, ensuring all characteristics generated at designated operations are conforming through applicable inspection techniques.
  • Equipment Operation: Perform set-up and operation of equipment according to drawings, method sheets, and occasionally supplement this information with your own job knowledge.
  • Material Handling: Utilize cranes, and material handling equipment to lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs, following proper ergonomic procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Must have at least a HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Requires the ability to use simple blueprints, simple arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of decimals and fractions, and the use of precision measuring instruments.
  • Requires the ability to work from detailed instructions and planning.
  • This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations, working with chemicals, and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining

  • At least two years of related experience in manufacturing or 2-year degree in a related field.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
