Job summary

Heartland Food Products Group is hiring a Production Supervisor for our Indianapolis, IN site. The role operates on 12-hour shifts with two options: Friday-Sunday 6am-6pm or Friday-Monday 6pm-6am, on-site at our Manufacturing Plant in Indianapolis.

The supervisor will direct production workers, enforce food safety and quality guidelines, and drive process improvements while developing a skilled, motivated team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science required
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in manufacturing and supervision
• Minimum of 2 years' Aseptic experience
• Superior analytical and critical thinking skills
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
• Demonstrates essential problem-solving methods and initiative
• Ability to perform under pressure and to solve problems independently
• Ability to communicate well with all employees and customers
• Ability to work scheduled shift and rotational weekends

Responsibilities

• Enforces safety and sanitation regulations per food safety and quality guidelines
• Directs and coordinates the activities of production workers such as packers, machine operators, and blenders
• Develops and motivates team to solve day-to-day operational issues and meet plant goals
• Coordinates daily inventories and supplies and other operational activities
• Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals
• Inspects materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
• Maintains records of attendance and hours worked
• Recommends personnel actions and disciplinary measures for direct reports
• Interprets specifications, blueprints, and company policies for workers
• Initiates and drives process improvements
• Reads and analyzes charts, work orders, production schedules, and reports to determine production requirements
• Documents records per company policies (HACCP, GMP, SOPs)
• Oversees production documentation and process control documentation
• All other duties as assigned
