South Piedmont Community College in Monroe, NC seeks a part-time instructor to lead aseptic processing and biotechnology courses, including BioWork and related workforce training programs, on its Old Charlotte Highway campus.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the instructor will deliver classroom and lab instruction, develop curriculum, assess student learning, and build industry partnerships to support regional economic development.

Qualifications

• Must have an associate degree in biotechnology or related field with two years of industry experience OR ten years in pharmaceutical manufacturing with credentials.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, or closely related Life Science field preferred.
• Three years of hands-on lab or cleanroom instructional experience including aseptic processing and environmental monitoring preferred.
• Experience teaching in a community college or university setting preferred.
• BioWork certificate or experience as BioWork instructor preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsabilités

• Deliver biotechnology and workforce training instruction through classroom, lab, hybrid, and customized formats using competency-based teaching methods.
• Develop and update curriculum, laboratory exercises, and course resources to align with learning outcomes and industry standards.
• Assess student learning, provide timely feedback, and maintain grades and attendance records.
• Ensure safe, compliant learning environments following laboratory safety and regulatory standards.
• Provide program leadership, coordinate with other instructors, and contribute to program assessment.
• Build industry partnerships and monitor workforce trends to align training with employer needs.
• Support institutional effectiveness through committee participation and professional development.
