Job summary

AbbVie in Texas is seeking a maintenance technician for the MD Fill - B1 shift (7am-7:30pm: Thu/Fri/Sat and every other Wed). The role focuses on keeping production and packaging equipment running, complying with cGMP standards, and training junior mechanics.

Responsibilities include setup/changeovers, troubleshooting, and accurate documentation. A two-year degree or equivalent experience, ASEPTIC certification ability, and regulatory familiarity are required.

Qualifications

• Two-year Associate’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field with 2–3 years maintenance experience, or a HS diploma with 3–5 years maintenance experience.
• Must have ability to become Aseptic certified and wear aseptic gown.
• Regulatory: experience in a cGMP or FDA regulated manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized work area during and at the end of each shift.
• Assist in achieving environmental, health, and safety goals by working safely and observing all general plant and department safety policies.
• Performs all assigned duties according to departmental SOPs and cGMPs.
• Remains current on proper procedures by reviewing current, revised, and new SOPs relating to the job and to the department.
• Completes and remains current with all required cGMP and safety training.
• Performs maintenance and repairs of production/packaging equipment to support on-time delivery with minimal downtime.
• Assist with setup and changeovers of production/packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoots equipment and coordinates corrective actions to reduce or eliminate defects, rejects, or downtime.
• Completes all required documentation associated with repair and maintenance of production/packaging equipment.
• Provides guidance and training to less experienced mechanics to ensure PMs, line setup and changeovers are performed within established requirements.
