Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Certified Technician in Frisco, TX. The ideal candidate performs vehicle repair and maintenance per dealer and factory standards, communicates with the Parts Department, and diagnoses issues to ensure customer safety and vehicle reliability.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and automotive technical training.
• Minimum 2+ years of automotive technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance per repair order, adhering to dealer and factory standards to build customer trust.
• Communicate regularly with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs as authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and provide recommendations to ensure safety and reliability.
• Document work performed on each vehicle and maintain tools inventory including special tools.
• Stay updated with factory bulletins and participate in training classes.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid driver’s license
• A passion for cars and customer service

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.
• Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.
• Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
• Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”
• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
• Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty

What are the requirements for this job?

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician
• Automotive technical training (varies based on store needs)
• Attention to detail
• Organization and follow-up skills
• Valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record
