Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on the repair order efficiently and according to dealership standards.
- Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor regarding additional services needed, providing concerns, recommendations, and estimates.
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
- Follow GM and dealership instructions and policies.
- Diagnose and repair various vehicle components to factory specs, including electrical systems, AC systems, modules, brakes, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
- Participate in ongoing technical training onsite and offsite to stay compliant with GM and dealership policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work stall.
- Lift heavy objects (>50 lbs) as needed.
- Document all work and paperwork to comply with dealership policies.
- Assist other technicians as needed and ensure quality control before vehicle delivery.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Experience at an automotive dealership.
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Willingness to submit to pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods.
- Team player with good collaboration skills.
- Willingness to learn new technology and repair procedures.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments with chemicals, odors, and weather conditions.
