Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a Technician in Foley, AL to inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering outstanding customer experiences. You will explain technical issues to customers and coworkers, and continually learn evolving automotive tech. Mentorship to teammates and a safe, clean shop are expected.

The role emphasizes collaboration, ongoing training, and adherence to safety standards while supporting a fast-paced service environment with a focus on quality repairs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license and pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems.
• Perform maintenance services as required and supervise lower-level duties.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanics and customers.
• Continuously learn new technical information in formal training sessions.
• Assist other technicians in technical activities and keep management informed of repair problems.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and clean shop and adhere to policies and safety rules.
