Job summary

VIP Tires & Service is seeking an Installation Technician to perform tire services, oil changes, MPI inspections, wheel alignments, and other under-hood duties. You will follow VIP processes, maintain safety, and work with a team to deliver quality workmanship.

The role requires one year in automotive service, a valid driver’s license, and ASE certifications. This is a non-exempt, hourly position with a 40-hour workweek, based in Sanford, ME, with opportunities for VIP training and advancement.

Qualifications

Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journals and procedures.
Explain vehicle information to customers clearly.
Diagnose and recommend solutions to basic automotive problems.
Interpret, understand, and apply instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to successfully perform required types of automotive services listed above.

Responsibilities

Maintain workplace safety as Priority #1; follow safety policies and training.
Provide automotive repair and maintenance services (tire services, oil changes, under-hood services, MPIs, wheel alignments).
Initiate a valid Service Work Order before service and keep it visible during service.
Complete MPI prior to service and participate in the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement Process.
Complete and return Service Work Orders and printouts with vehicle keys upon service completion.
Obtain parts from Desk Team members and return unused parts after service.
Return cores, batteries and used tires to designated areas for proper handling.
Maintain minimum average productivity of 50% over any 16-week period.
Follow VIP quality service policies and complete required training/certifications.
Train and comply with VIP processes and essential duties.
