Job summary

Lincoln Park Public Schools seeks an ASD Resource Teacher for Lafayette for the 2026-2027 school year. The candidate will adapt curricula, implement behavior plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support students with ASD.

Requirements include Michigan ASD Special Education Certification, resource room experience, and knowledge of trauma-informed interventions. The role reports to the Executive Director of Special Education and Building Principal(s).

Qualifications

• Must hold Michigan ASD Special Education certification.
• Resource room experience preferred.
• Must meet North Central requirements for the position.
• Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers.
• Experience and knowledge of instructional, behavioral and communication strategies for ASD.
• Classroom instruction and instructional leadership for SPED/ASD students.
• Other requirements as determined by Lincoln Park Board of Education.

Responsibilities

• Adapt and modify curricula and learning environments for students.
• Align student programs with the general education curriculum.
• Develop and implement individualized behavior plans based on functional behavioral assessments.
• Use assessment tools and interventions linking outcomes to curriculum.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Utilize appropriate technology and trauma-informed strategies.
• Maintain required SPED timelines and paperwork.
