Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools seeks a Special Education Assistant (Program) [ASD] at Pratt Elementary for 2026-2027. The role supports students with disabilities, assists staff with individualized lessons, and promotes independence and inclusion in the least restrictive environment.

The assistant monitors activities, maintains records, supports daily routines, and communicates with families while upholding district policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required and ParaPro recommended.
• 60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits in Education/related area.
• Two years of paid experience with children is expected.
• Ability to work with students with disabilities and diverse needs.
• Knowledge of classroom policies and basic record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Provide support services to children with disabilities in a learning environment.
• Assist staff to develop and implement individualized lessons and activities.
• Monitor student activities and maintain progress records.
• Promote independence, inclusion, and self-advocacy skills.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and uphold district policies.
