Job summary

Brainerd Public Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant - ASD at Brainerd High School for the 2025-2026 school year. The role is 7.5 hours per day with 173 duty days, non-exempt and eligible for full benefits.

Responsibilities include supporting IEP goals in various settings and collaborating with the special education team. The ideal candidate will have a two-year degree or equivalent credits, Para-pro certification, strong communication, and ability to work with students with diverse

Qualifications

Two-year associate degree, 60 college credits, or para-pro/para e-link certification.
Experience with students with physical, cognitive and/or mild behavioral needs.
Handle with Care Training within three months of being hired.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work as a team.
Flexible to program and student needs.
Ability to implement therapies and programs as prescribed by IEP.

Responsibilities

Carrying out duties outlined in a student's IEP.
Assist students in individual and group settings, including in the community settings.
Provide specialized instruction/interventions/accommodations as outlined in the IEP.
Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to ensure student safety and success.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Support development of daily living skills and adaptive activities.
