Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant (Program) for Kenwood Elementary to support students with disabilities and assist staff in implementing individualized education plans.

The role requires 90 quarter/60 semester credits or higher, a ParaPro score of 460+ (or equivalent) and two years of experience with children. Training in CPI and First Aid/ CPR is preferred. This position is on-site at Kenwood.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working with children.
• Completion of 90 quarter/60 semester college credits or higher.
• Passing ParaPro assessment with a score of 460 or higher along with a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students with moderate to severe disabilities and assist staff to implement IEPs.
• Assist students with learning through positive behavior support and instruction.
• Monitor student activities, manage transitions, and ensure safety in a learning environment.
• Maintain behavior documentation and records for IEPs, FBA, SA IL program files.
