Job summary

LabMinds Staffing is seeking a Histotechnologist in State College, PA to perform a range of histological procedures on tissue specimens and support pathology workflows. You will ensure accurate accessioning, labeling, and timely slide preparation for daily microscopic review.

Responsibilities include collaboration with pathologists during gross examination, processing, and staining, plus assistance with frozen sections and referral materials as required. Certification is required.

Qualifications

• Must be certified as a histotechnologist with ASCP or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform histological procedures on tissue specimens under supervision.
• Identify and process tissue specimens for anatomic pathology.
• Accurately record patient demographics, specimen source and physician information.
• Assist pathologist with gross examination and tissue processing.
• Section, stain, and deliver prepared slides for microscopic review.
• Assist with frozen section preparation when needed.
• Perform special histochemical stains within required timeframes.
• Prepare slides for sending to other laboratories as needed.
• Index and store tissue slides and blocks for retrieval.
