Job summary

Freeman Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support CS, surgical SPD, and endoscopy SPD areas. You will work under the CS Coordinator and ASC Administrator to maintain goals, ensure instrument processing, and provide supplies to perioperative services.

Your role involves inventory management, cycle counts, monitoring for expirations, coordinating replacements, and ensuring compliance with Freeman, state, and federal standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic computer functions and systems.
• Working knowledge of inventory management.
• Knowledge of sterile processing (surgical and endoscopy) and central supply.
• Experience in central supply/sterile processing (1 year).
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility CS, surgical SPD, and endoscopy SPD goals.
• Provide supplies and process instruments for internal/external use.
• Ensure compliance with Freeman standards and regulations.
• Assess instrument integrity; clean, sterilize, and report repairs.
• Prepare, assemble, and deliver sterile instruments to perioperative services.
• Maintain proper inventory; perform cycle counts; review purchase orders to avoid overstock.
• Coordinate replacement of expired/missing consignment products and implement new products.
• Maintain supplies across outlying departments; rotate supplies and linens to improve cleanliness.
• Order stock and non-stock supplies, instrumentation, and equipment.
• Monitor equipment cords, outlets, lighting; arrange repairs/replacements as needed.
• Serve as back-up to CS Coordinator and collaborate with related duties.
