Job summary

Emerge's Blue Ridge Surgery Center in Asheville, NC is seeking an Administrator to lead daily operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accrediting standards.

The ASC Administrator provides strategic and operational direction to achieve clinical excellence, safe patient care, and the organization’s financial objectives, while promoting quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of executive-level experience managing a physician practice.
• Knowledge and experience working with orthopedic surgeons preferred.
• B.S. in Business Administration or related clinical field; MBA/MHA strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops clinical procedures that ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality care.
• Develops appropriate admission and discharge procedures and assures preadmission criteria are met.
• Researches and prepares cost reduction proposals and implements them as applicable.
• Evaluates patient care and reports significant patient issues appropriately.
• Ensures compliance with policies and governmental regulations pertaining to controlled substances, infection control, patient confidentiality, CPR, ACLS, safety, and risk management.
• Assists with analysis and utilization of clinical data.
• Initiates quality assurance measures for system changes/improvements.
• Provides oversight for the safety committee.
• Ensures personnel are trained, licensed, and credentialed.
• Monitors staff for continuing education requirements.
• Directs and evaluates delegated tasks according to scope of practice.
• Supervises development of job descriptions.
