Job summary

Targa Resources is seeking a Contract Accounting Analyst to support contract governance and operational accounting for gas gathering, processing, and liquids settlements. The role focuses on accurate revenue recognition, contract setups, and compliance with ASC 606.

You will collaborate with Commercial, Accounting, and other stakeholders to interpret complex contracts, perform analyses, and maintain procedures for accounting personnel. Strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 3–5 years in revenue or operational accounting, audit, or related function.
• Experience with energy settlement systems (W Energy, RightAngle) preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and ASC 606 revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

• Review monthly contract activity across gas processing plants for settlement setup review.
• Analyze gas gathering, processing, and purchase agreements for accurate interpretation in settlement systems.
• Verify contract setups to ensure proper revenue recognition and producer statements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve interpretation issues and ensure consistent terms.
• Complete monthly SOX-compliant control activities and documentation.
