Job summary

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive project plans for asbestos abatement projects, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates.
  • Oversee projects at multiple sites with little to no direct supervision. Projects consist of multidiscipline tasks with integral scheduling components.
  • Develop effective asbestos abatement strategies tailored to each project, considering factors such as the type and condition of ACMs, site conditions, and environmental concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and state/local asbestos regulations.
  • Lead and supervise a team of asbestos abatement technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including asbestos surveys, work plans, daily progress reports, and waste manifests.
  • Direct field personnel, equipment operators, laborers and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delay and keep project progress on track.
  • Complete required field documentation daily and accurately.
  • Ability to understand and recognize contract requirements; and identify potential changed conditions or out of scope items.
  • Assist in preparation of cost estimates with appropriate back‑up.
  • Procure materials and negotiate with vendors/subcontractors.
  • Attend site walks, solicit subcontractor quotes, prepare estimates, and assist in submitting proposals.
  • Have computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Recognize and initiate efficiency improvements.
  • Work directly with senior management to establish long and short‑term goals.
  • Assist in projecting cost to complete and preparation of change order documentation when needed.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience leading environmental cleanup, soil remediation, demolition/decontamination or habitat restoration projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with multi‑disciplinary staff executing construction projects.
  • Asbestos Certified Abatement Training Required / Certification as an Asbestos Supervisor in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Thorough understanding of asbestos abatement techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
