Job summary

Terracon in Lubbock, TX is seeking an Assistant Project Manager with asbestos licenses to grow our asbestos and industrial hygiene practice. You will supervise hazardous materials projects, prepare proposals, and mentor junior staff while ensuring safety and quality across projects.

You will partner with the group manager to manage inspections, abatement oversight, and client relationships, contributing to proposals, bid specs, and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a science or worker health and safety-related discipline, or 6 years related experience.
• Current TDSHS Asbestos Licenses (Asbestos Inspector, Air Monitoring Technician, Asbestos Project Manager, Asbestos Management Planner or Asbestos Individual Consultant).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives and model a safe work environment for all projects.
• Prepare proposals and bid specifications for asbestos, lead, and other hazardous materials.
• Coordinate resources, schedules, budgets, and project staff to ensure timely, cost-effective completion.
• Mentor junior staff and review data generation and reporting quality.
• Assist in business development and client relationship management.
