Job summary

MGT is seeking an experienced AS/400 Developer/Admin to support a long-term contract for one of its clients. The resource will maintain, develop, and administer IBM i applications in a hosted environment, focusing on RPG, CL, RPGLE, and DB2 for i.

The role requires coordinating with the external hosting provider for environment changes, ensuring security, and assisting with data extraction and legacy-to-cloud migration efforts.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of hands-on AS/400 (IBM i) development and support.
• Proficient in RPG IV, RPGLE, CL and SQL on DB2 for i.
• Experience with hosted/managed AS400 environments and external providers.
• Strong application administration and user security management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, modify, and optimize legacy RPG/CL code and RPGLE.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, batch runs, and user-reported problems.
• Update logic for regulatory changes and business processes.
• Coordinate with hosting provider for maintenance, OS patching, and DB utilities.
• Manage security configurations and audit logs; oversee job schedulers.
