Job summary

MGT seeks an experienced AS400 Developer/Admin to support a long-term contract engagement. The selected candidate will be an employee of MGT for 12 months with potential extension and will focus on application maintenance, IBM i/AS400 administration, and DB2 for i tasks.

The role involves collaborating with Ensono for environment-level changes, providing COTS and legacy code support, and aiding state IT leadership with data extraction, migration, and archiving initiatives while ensuring system

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on AS400 (IBM i, iSeries) development and support.
• Proficient in RPG IV (ILE RPG), RPGLE, CL, and SQL on DB2 for i.
• Experience in hosted/managed AS400 environments with external providers.
• Strong experience in IBM i work management, subsystems, and security.
• File transfer automation (FTP, SFTP) and external integrations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, modify, and optimize legacy RPG/CL code and related processes.
• Coordinate with hosting provider for system maintenance, patches, and environment changes.
• Manage DB2 for i databases, tuning queries and ensuring performance.
• Assist with legacy-to-cloud migration, data archiving, and documentation of business logic.
