Job summary

Edmundite Missions in Selma, AL, seeks a Program Assistant for the Arts to develop and oversee arts programming across dance, music, drama, and graphic arts at the Bullock Recreation and Community Center. You will manage registrations, coordinate partnerships with local arts organizations, and support youth programs through arts initiatives.

The role requires at least two years of experience bringing arts to community or educational settings, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience bringing the arts to community or education organizations.
• Personally experienced in one or more aspects of performing or graphic arts, with ability to lead such programming.
• Valid driver’s license and own transportation.
• Scheduling flexibility; available for weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees a wide array of arts programming for all ages and interests.
• Regularly assesses community interests and adjusts programs accordingly.
• Oversees partnerships with local arts organizations to maximize access to arts programming.
• Manages non-registration drop-in use of the Bullock Center for informal arts and crafts.
• Coordinates with center directors to provide resources to related communities.
• Works with youth programs and associated academy to ensure robust arts offerings.
• Identifies external experts to enhance programming and leads volunteers in arts initiatives.
• Coordinates arts program scheduling with other programming to maintain unified calendars.
