Job summary

Lorain County Metro Parks is seeking a Cultural Arts & Nature Coordinator under the direction of the Cultural Arts Manager to deliver educational programs on arts, nature, and local history. Responsibilities include planning exhibits, coordinating staff, setting up facilities, and overseeing front of house during performances.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to work evenings and weekends, and experience in program development, PR, customer service, and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in the above fields is preferred, with experience in developing and conducting educational programs a must.
• Experience in public relations, customer service, administrative support, and scheduling events and/or staff also necessary.
• Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and e-mail necessary.
• Computer-generated presentation experience (PowerPoint) highly preferred.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Producing and conducting a wide variety of educational programs related to arts, nature, and local cultural history.
• Planning and producing temporary and permanent displays and exhibits.
• Scheduling programs and supervising seasonal and part-time staff as assigned.
• Performing facility set-up and maintenance.
• Opening/closing the nature center for rentals, rehearsals, and performances; supervising front of house staff and box office.
• Using strong written and oral communication with diverse groups.
