Job summary

Lorain County Metropolitan Park District seeks a Cultural Arts & Nature Coordinator to lead a broad range of educational programs in arts, nature, and the region’s cultural history, while planning and producing engaging displays and exhibits.

The role includes scheduling and supervising seasonal staff, facility setup, and overseeing front of house and contract work for theatre productions. Occasional evenings and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's (preferred) or associate degree in arts, theater, or cultural history.
• At least two years’ experience in the fields; experience in educational programs is a must.
• Public relations, customer service, administrative support, and scheduling events/staff experience required.

Responsibilities

• Produce and conduct a wide variety of educational programs related to arts, nature, and Lorain County’s cultural history.
• Plan and produce temporary and permanent displays and exhibits.
• Schedule staff and supervise seasonal/part-time employees as assigned.
• Perform facility set-up and maintenance.
• Open and close the nature center for rentals, rehearsals, and performances; supervise front of house staff and box office.
• Oversee independent contracts related to theatre productions.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
