Job summary

Lorain County Metro Parks is seeking a Special Events Assistant to coordinate gatherings at our venues. You will be highly organized with strong communication and attention to detail, serving as the main liaison for clients and guests.

This temporary role requires flexibility with hours, the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and comfort working outdoors in all weather. Training and background checks are part of the process.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for clients and guests.
• Provide exceptional customer service and handle issues that may arise.
• Prepare facilities before the event including room set up.
• Ensure that events stay on track and end on time.
• Open and close buildings, facilities, and outdoor venues, including setting security alarms.
• Ensure venue is clear of decorations, supplies, and trash after each event and document any damage.

Lorain County Metro Parks is currently seeking a Special Events Assistant. We are looking for a highly organized individual interested in the hospitality field, with excellent communication skills, and strong attention to detail.

• Proficient knowledge of all venue and park rules and regulations.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients and guests.
• Provide exceptional customer service and handle any issues that may arise.
• Prepare facilities before the event including room set up.
• Ensure that events stay on track and end on time.
• Ensure that the venue is clear of all decorations, supplies, and trash following each event, and document any damage to the venue and grounds.
• Open and close buildings, facilities, and outdoor venues, including setting security alarms.

Pay Rate

Pay Rate: $12 to $15 per hour, commensurate with employee experience.

Temporary employees can work up to 28 hours per week.

Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license or state ID. New employees must satisfactorily complete a background check. Lorain County Metropolitan Park District policy prohibits hiring new employees who are tobacco users.
