Job summary

The Arts and College Preparatory Academy in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a School Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year. This role reports to the School Principals and the Director of Student Services, collaborating with the counseling team, teachers, social workers, and other student support staff to promote academics, social-emotional learning, and student growth.

Responsibilities include managing transcripts in PowerSchool, developing student success plans with educators, handling crisis

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in school counseling or related program.
• Ohio School Counselor License.
• Experience or desire to work in an arts focused and progressive school environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain student transcripts and historical grade data in PowerSchool.
• Collaborate with teachers, school psychologists and social workers to support students’ academic and wellbeing goals.
• Assist with crisis response for students and families experiencing traumatic events.
• Maintain office hours and build positive relationships with students.
• Schedule and facilitate individual and group meetings to prepare students for graduation and post-secondary options.
• Coordinate college and career readiness initiatives and opportunities (CCP).
• Support college applications and financial aid processes for students.
