Job summary

The Arts and College Preparatory Academy (ACPA) in Columbus, OH is seeking an Intervention Specialist for Grades 7–12 who will also coordinate special education activities. This 12-month, full-time role balances direct student support with administrative leadership and compliance duties.

For nine months, you will deliver specialized instruction and manage a 7–12 caseload; in summer, you will oversee ESY, audits, and DEW data prep, and may act as district representative for ETR & IEP meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education required.
• Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or Special Education Administration is a plus.
• Must hold a valid Ohio Resident Educator or Professional Educator License as an Intervention Specialist (Mild/Moderate, Grades 7–12).
• Minimum of 3 years of classroom experience as an Intervention Specialist at the secondary level; experience with Ohio compliance software or IEP tracking platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instructional Support & Differentiation: modify and deliver core middle and high school curriculum to meet diverse needs.
• IEP Case Management: write and manage IEPs in compliance; lead annual IEP team meetings.
• Collaborative Co-Teaching: work with teachers, counseling team, and arts faculty to integrate accommodations into classes.
• Transition Planning: develop measurable post-secondary goals and transition plans aligned with Ohio graduation pathways.
