Job summary

The Golden Husk Theatre & Valley County Creative District in Valley County, Nebraska, seeks a collaborative leader to grow into a dual Executive Director and Coordinator role, shaping programming and partnerships across the county.

The position blends nonprofit leadership with community-based creative development, initially at a 50/50 split, with potential seasonal adjustments. Strong emphasis on fundraising, collaboration, and sustained cultural growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Interest in nonprofit leadership, creative placemaking, and rural community development.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day nonprofit operations, including board relations, fundraising, and communications.
• Serve as a visible and engaged community ambassador — building relationships with patrons, donors, partners, and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate performance events and volunteer engagement.
• Collaborate with the artistic director to support annual programming and grant projects.
• Support and lead a county-wide art and culture network among artists, organizations, and partners.
• Represent Valley County at local, regional, and statewide events.
