Job summary

The University of Michigan SMTD seeks an Admissions Recruiter to drive recruitment, admission decisions, and financial aid collaboration across music, theatre, and dance programs. This hybrid role requires frequent travel and weekend/evening hours, reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions.

You will work with faculty and staff to move applicants through the admissions process, plan events, and support CRM Slate operations while engaging diverse communities across Michigan and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years in higher education admissions, recruitment, enrollment, financial aid, student services, or related field.
• Experience advising or guiding individuals while communicating policies and resources.
• Experience processing applications and maintaining confidential records.
• Experience planning events, campus visits, webinars, or similar programming.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings as scheduled.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively during recruitment season.

Responsibilities

• Recruit prospective students and families in person or virtually.
• Travel to college fairs, regional auditions, recruitment visits, and online events.
• Provide information sessions on campus and across programs.
• Collaborate with Admissions Program Coordinator to plan SMTD advertising.
• Develop SMTD website content and update CRM as needed.
• Support admissions processing and CRM slate workflows.
• Assist with merit and need-based financial aid processes.
