Job summary

Tommy's Tavern + Tap Morris Plains, part of Triple T Hospitality, seeks a Sushi Staff member for our fast-paced kitchen. You will prepare and present sushi, from rolls to sashimi, ensuring exceptional taste, precise technique, and beautiful presentation.

Collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house teams, you’ll uphold food safety standards, maintain station cleanliness, and minimize waste. Prior sushi experience and knife skills are preferred, and a positive team mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a sushi-focused kitchen.
• Proficiency in knife skills, rice preparation, and fish handling.
• Strong attention to detail and artistic presentation.
• Knowledge of food safety standards for raw fish.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant.
• Familiarity with sushi tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sushi items including rolls, nigiri, and sashimi according to established recipes.
• Ensure freshness and quality of all ingredients.
• Maintain sushi station cleanliness and proper storage.
• Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely orders.
• Assist in training new sushi staff.
