Do-Rite Donuts & Chicken in Chicago is seeking Pastry Cooks to assist in preparing baked goods, pastries and desserts. The role requires working varied shifts, including weekends, and using standard kitchen tools safely while delivering consistently fresh, high-quality items.

We value teamwork, communication, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. This position supports a chef-owned concept focused on small-batch, in-house production and fresh ingredients.

Qualifications

• Prepare, produce and present pastries according to prescribed recipes and requests.
• Available to work a variety of hours, including weekends.
• Safely and effectively use knives and equipment.
• Communicate clearly in written and spoken directions.
• Multi-task calmly in a busy environment.
• Stand and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow portioning controls and par levels.
• Maintain food safety and quality standards.
• Read a thermometer correctly.
• Communicate delays or issues to Coordinator.
• Maintain menu item counts and inform staff when quantities fall below minimum.
• Accurately account for all items from the station.
• Understand and follow food allergy procedures.
• Comply with safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Follow employment policies and be a team player.
• Other duties as needed.
