Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Salem, NH is seeking a Meat Cutter to responsibly cut, prepare, display, and sell meat products while delivering friendly, efficient service. You will uphold health and safety standards, mentor trainees, and support store programs in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 14+ months of retail experience and completion of the WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent. Lifting up to 50 lbs and flexible scheduling are part of the duties.

Qualifications

• 14+ months retail experience.
• Completed WFM Butcher Apprentice Program, or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (sausage, oven ready products, cured meats).
• Checks product to meet WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and assists in preventing spoilage.
• Mentors and supports Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Arrives on time, groomed, and ready to work; attends trainings and meetings.
• Provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs promptly.
• Maximizes sales through prep, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safety.
• Maintains clean and sanitary environment; equipment maintained per standards.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; checks signs and pricing.
• Reports safety hazards and violations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
