Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Meat Cutter in Littleton, CO. The role focuses on cutting, preparing, displaying, and selling meat products while ensuring top customer service and adherence to health and safety standards.

You will handle various cuts, mentor trainees, and maintain quality, safety, and cleanliness across the department. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring flexibility for shifts.

Qualifications

• 14+ months retail experience.
• Successful completion of WFM Butcher Apprentice Program, or an equivalent training program.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (i.e. sausage, oven ready products, and cured meats).
• Checks product to make sure it meets WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and assists in preventing spoilage.
• Mentors and supports assigned Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques; answers phones and pages promptly and courteously.
• Maximizes sales potential through proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follows health and sanitation and safe work practices.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment per WFM standards.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures pricing accuracy.
• Reports safety hazards and violations.
