Job summary

Pavement Coffeehouse is seeking a dedicated Prep Cook to support our kitchen and café teams. You will follow daily prep lists, prepare ingredients, and help maintain quality across locations. This role emphasizes food safety, accurate labeling, and efficient station turnover for busy service periods.

We value teamwork, reliability, and a strong work ethic to keep our menus consistent and fresh. You will stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and move between stations during shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen following recipes and sanitation guidelines.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Good communication with front-of-house and kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Follow a daily prep list and duties across stations.
• Prepare food, vegetables, and spreads per recipes and sanitation guidelines.
• Bagel baking: mixing, proofing, rolling housemade doughs.
• Monitor ovens, mixers, and baking equipment temperatures/settings.
• Maintain a clean, foodsafe work area at all times.
• Label and organize all products clearly.
• Ensure clean dishes and bins for bakery, cafe, and prep ops.
• Keep shelves in dish room, loading dock, walk-in fridge organized.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, walls, floors, drains, ceilings.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
