Job summary

Whole Foods Market is hiring a Bakery Decorator in San Francisco to create and decorate cakes, tarts, and pastries with artistic flair. You will finish cakes to meet quality standards and support store programs while upholding safety and contamination controls.

You will mentor Apprentices, handle custom orders, and ensure timely service and accurate pricing. A strong eye for detail and teamwork is essential in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills with piping techniques.
• Knowledge of buttercream and ganache icing varieties.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain accuracy under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, and specialty items.
• Build and decorate cakes following standard procedures and record production.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products and maintain freshness and display rotation.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices and team members.
• Create custom order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a clean workspace.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties and price signage accurately.
