Job summary

Whole Foods Market, Inc. is seeking a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items. You will showcase products, maintain quality, and provide outstanding customer service while complying with food safety standards.

You will lead Apprentice training, assist teammates, and ensure accurate signage, pricing, and cleanliness across a fast-paced bakery department in a supermarket environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6-12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience within a professional bakery or grocery retail, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in display cases and ensure freshness and rotation.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices and Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workspace and safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
