Job summary

Hilcorp Energy Company is seeking a field technician to support artificial lift operations in our Texas facilities. The role involves assisting with selection, installation, and optimization of lift systems, as well as routine maintenance and field troubleshooting.

The candidate will trend SCADA data, update wellbore schematics, and work with operators to improve well performance. A strong safety mindset and ability to work with cross-functional teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years minimum oilfield experience
• Ability to work established schedule
• Requires less supervision in routine duties
• Ability to understand how wells and surface facilities work together
• Ability to direct and train lower-ranked staff
• Ability to manage multiple activities at the site
• Ability to recognize non-standard conditions and advise solutions
• Basic mathematics and mechanical skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to operate a boat (if applicable)
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Commitment to safety in all decisions

Responsibilities

• Works with team to select artificial lift candidate wells.
• Assists in installation and setting up of equipment (mechanical, I&E, SCADA).
• Trends SCADA data and communicates with operators to optimize artificial lift wells.
• Designs artificial lift systems including needed downhole and surface equipment.
• Manages and tracks maintenance of all artificial lift equipment.
• Provides routine service and maintenance schedules to operators and contractors.
• Performs field troubleshooting of artificial lift and surface equipment.
• Updates wellbore schematics with equipment changes.
• Promotes and implements new technologies to enhance well performance.
• Trains Lease Operators in well optimization relating to artificial lift.
• Adheres to Health, Safety, & Environmental programs.
• Shuts down equipment per supervisor instructions in emergencies.
• May work across multiple fields.
• Adheres to company values: integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment and innovation.
• Supports company vision and mission.
• Maintains established work schedule and punctuality.
• Other duties as assigned.
