Our client, a forward-thinking technology company operating at the intersection of artificial intelligence and financial services, is currently seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join their growing team.

This is a contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent role, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge solutions from anywhere within the USA.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing and optimizing AI-driven solutions that support mortgage processing workflows. This includes enhancing systems that handle consumer-submitted documentation (such as W-2 forms), leveraging large language models (LLMs), and improving the automation and accuracy of loan origination systems (LOS).

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models, particularly LLM-based solutions, to streamline document processing in the mortgage lifecycle
• Work with engineering and product teams to integrate AI capabilities into the loan origination pipeline
• Automate classification, data extraction, and interpretation of consumer-uploaded documents
• Continuously refine AI models based on user feedback and real-world data
• Stay abreast of advancements in AI, particularly in NLP and document understanding

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an AI Engineer, with hands-on expertise in building and deploying models in production
• Strong background in working with LLMs and NLP frameworks
• Solid understanding of document processing workflows, including OCR, classification, and data extraction
• Experience working remotely in a collaborative, agile environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Prior experience in the mortgage or lending industry
• Familiarity with loan origination systems and common documentation (e.g., W-2s, pay stubs)
• Knowledge of compliance and data privacy considerations in financial services
