Edge AI Engineer – Vision at the Point of Care

Location: Remote – Ideally Bay Area or NYC

Industry: MedTech / Digital Health

AI in healthcare needs to be private, fast, and accountable. That’s why we’re moving vision AI to the edge—embedded in devices used daily by clinicians, nurses, and technicians.

We’re hiring an Edge AI Engineer to help us compress, deploy, and maintain computer vision models directly on diagnostic and assistive devices. You’ll play a critical role in balancing model performance with hardware constraints—while navigating a regulated environment where reliability is everything.

What you’ll do:

• Quantize, prune, and distill large CV models to run on-device (ARM, DSP, NPU)
• Integrate inference pipelines into FDA-compliant systems
• Interface with hardware teams to squeeze performance from each watt
• Write test harnesses and monitoring tools for in-field validation
• Collaborate with QA, compliance, and clinical partners

Ideal experience:

• Experience with TFLite, CoreML, or edge deployment frameworks (EdgeTPU, OpenVINO)
• Background in model optimization techniques for mobile or embedded use
• Familiarity with camera modules and low-latency image pipelines
• Bonus: Experience in MedTech or regulated environments
