The Opportunity

We're representing a high-growth data activation company seeking their first Machine Learning Engineer to build an intelligence layer that transforms how companies engage with customers. This is a founding ML role where you'll help hundreds of companies move beyond guesswork in customer messaging to intelligent, data-driven decision making.

As their founding machine learning engineer, you'll:

• Build comprehensive ML solutions from scratch to determine which customers to message, what content to send, and when to engage
• Create personalization and product recommendation systems from catalogs
• Develop predictive models for customer behavior (conversion, churn, engagement)
• Design automated experimentation frameworks for messaging optimization
• Partner directly with customers to deliver business-critical solutions
• Build ML infrastructure and distributed systems at scale

• Built recommendation, ads, search, personalization, or pricing solutions at scale
• Experience with early-stage tech companies
• Strong technical breadth - ML modeling AND backend infrastructure
• Excellent communication skills - can explain complex solutions clearly
• Product sense and intuition (founder experience, big-picture thinking)
• 0-to-1 experience with marketing technology products
• Experience with multi-armed bandits and experimentation systems
• Built products, not just features
