South Bay Artist Studio is a private creative community space located in Redondo Beach, CA. Our charming artist and craft studio offers a variety of classes, workshops, open studio space, parties and events in a fun and collaborative environment.

Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for an Art Studio Assistant. The assistant will be responsible for maintaining the studio and supplies, loading and unloading kilns, recycling clay, calling clients for pick up and appointments. Assisting clients during open studio/ drop in sessions.

Answering phones and making calls to clients.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ceramics, kilns
• Experience in customer service, outgoing and confident
• Ability to work with artists and staff in maintaining the studio.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment for students
• Ability to work collaboratively with other instructors and staff members
• Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or related field is preferred
• Prior experience teaching in a similar environment, especially in a community-based setting, is highly desirable
• Knowledge of ceramics techniques and/or experience with ceramics is an additional asset.
