Job summary

Central Lincoln County YMCA is seeking an Art & Handwork instructor to teach after-school sessions for seniors and children. You will work with the Department Director to promote healthy living and youth development, while ensuring safety and high-quality programming.

The role involves preparing supplies, delivering engaging curriculum, and fostering a welcoming, supportive environment for families and participants.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
• Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work with staff and the public in a positive manner.
• Self-starter who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• General computer proficiency and ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Art & Handwork classes for seniors and children after school on Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
• Promotes healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development with the team.
• Develops art programs or curriculum in collaboration with directors while ensuring safety.
• Leads preparation, setup, delivery, and supervision of art activities.
• Maintains a safe, welcoming environment and manages group dynamics.
• Builds relationships with staff, participants, and community partners.
• Recruits and coordinates volunteers to support instruction.
• Maintains accurate attendance and reports incidents as needed.
