Job summary

San Francisco Community College District seeks a Laboratory/Storeroom Manager for the Art Department. This full-time, permanent position (40 hours/week, 260 days/year) reports to the Art Department Chair and supports technical lab operations, hiring and supervising lab assistants, budget planning, and safety procedures.

The role includes coordinating storeroom activities, inventory, purchasing, and maintaining lab facilities and equipment.

Qualifications

• Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in the appropriate discipline.
• Experience: Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of experience managing or supervising a laboratory or storeroom in an instructional laboratory or storeroom as a manager, supervisor, or teacher.

Responsibilities

• Arranges setup of site for storeroom/warehouse requirements.
• Communicates with staff and students to implement storeroom processes.
• Directs storeroom staff for safe and efficient operations.
• Inspects deliveries for quantity, quality, and specifications.
• Inventories storeroom supplies for availability and accuracy.
• Maintains storeroom procedures and operations.
• Operates equipment for stock transportation and storage.
• Oversees processes for maintaining storeroom operations.
• Prepares documentation and reports for historical records.
• Provides technical and safety advice for lab protocols and instrumentation.
• Supervises TIAs and student lab aides in lab processes.
• Supervises staff to ensure neat, safe storeroom.
• Performs related duties to ensure efficient functioning of the unit.
