The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Sculpture Lab Tech / Studio Manager at Harper College in Palatine, IL. The role oversees Sculpture Studios, manages shop safety, and supports student projects with supervision of student workers.

Sculpture Lab Tech / Studio Manager Description
This position involves managing the Sculpture Studios of the ArtDepartment. Duties include shop and equipment maintenance, orderingsupplies, basic bookkeeping, regular inventory, assisting studentswith projects and supervising student workers. A key role with thisposition is monitoring student safety and maintaining studio safetyprocedures. The studios include a large woodshop, metal fabricatingshop, foundry, and ceramics studios. This Sculpture Lab Techposition works collaboratively with the Ceramics Lab Tech.
Requirements
Experience working in a sculpture studio or similar shop isrequired. Familiarity with all types of tools and processes isrequired. No specific degree is required.
Adjunct teaching opportunities may be available to a candidate withan MFA or MA, including Foundation Drawing, Design, or ArtAppreciation. A candidate with no advanced degree but appropriateexperience may have the opportunity to teach Continuing Educationcourses.
Schedule and Salary
This is a part-time, hourly rate position. 20 hours/week throughout the school year and 10 hours/week duringsummer. All academic breaks off. Minimum 3 days/week.
