The Arc of the Capital Area is seeking a Program Instructor to oversee the Art and Education Program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This in-person role requires delivering engaging lesson plans, building positive relationships with staff, clients, families, and partners, and maintaining HIPAA-compliant records.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching group classes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Driver's license and proof of car insurance.
• Background check required.
• Ability to work with individuals with IDD.

Responsibilities

• Lead a medium to large group of I/DD learners to advance independence.
• Design, research, develop, and implement an engaging curriculum.
• Provide attendance and progress notes per contract guidelines.
• Assist Education Manager with day-to-day classroom and studio operations.
• Foster community growth through relationship building.
• Participate in fundraising efforts to meet goals.
